The Signal for Help is a discrete hand gesture that allows a person in a situation of risk to ask for help without speaking and without attracting the attention of a potential aggressor. Although the gesture is widely recognized, it produces a concrete effect only if it is detected promptly and if the alert reaches someone able to intervene. This paper addresses the gap between recognition and intervention by examining how a gesture detection system can be integrated into existing territorial security infrastructures. Building on a previously validated recognition model, the work focuses on its effective integration into existing video surveillance networks, operational workflows, and local security services. The analysis highlights the architectural, organizational, and governance conditions that enable a sustainable and responsible implementation, both in urban contexts with higher institutional density and in inner areas characterized by more limited resources. From this perspective, the contribution shows how a silent signal can be incorporated into a structured and traceable decision-making chain, strengthening local security ecosystems while maintaining human oversight and compliance with data protection principles.
