This paper presents a numerical methodology to calculate lookup tables for MTPA and flux weakening control of electric motors. The procedure is suitable for both synchronous and induction motors and does not require the a-priori knowledge of the supply voltage. Being the lookup tables calculation algorithm based on simple motor models, limited information is required to run it, making this modelling approach suitable to run simulations in the early stages of powertrains design process. The lookup tables account for the main limitations in motor operation and are calculated based on a simple but realistic approach. They can be used to include a first-glance information about stator currents and voltages into energetic vehicle models.

Abstract
