Inconel 939 is a Ni-based alloy characterized by high mechanical stability at high temperatures (up to around 850 °C) as well as high corrosion resistance. In order to obtain complex shape parts made of this material in a single step, laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process can be employed. The Inconel 939 microstructures generated by LPBF process result in extremely fine cellular and dendritic architectures with columnar grains aligned in the building direction. It is therefore crucial to perform post-heat treatments in order to obtain the desired microstructure and mechanical performance for service at high temperatures. However, there are few investigations on the impact of heat treatments on the microstructure evolution of Inconel 939 processed by LPBF. In the current work, different heat treatments were performed to investigate the grain modifications and phases evolution.

Abstract
In the current work, different heat treatments were performed to investigate the grain modifications and phases evolution.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
