For food, with food, through food, about food: un laboratorio di didattica e ricerca sul design per i processi alimentari

The present contribution intends to illustrate the work of the Polito Food Design Lab (PFDL) as a promoter of multidisciplinary, design-led experi- ments addressed to researchers, students and citizens. Founded in 2017 within the Department of Architecture and Design of the Politecnico di Torino, the lab aims to conduct – inside and outside the University – experiences with, for and through food, focusing on issues of environmental and social sustainability. Through a participatory and knowledge-sharing approach, the PFDL encourages hybridization and collaboration between technical and humanistic disciplines related to the study of food phenomena and processes. Such explorations prove to be strategic both in training designers and in raising public awareness.
