A simplified approach that was developed for annual daylight glare analyses in buildings is presented. The approach enables to classify a whole space in terms of daylight glare comfort classes (imperceptible glare, perceptible glare, disturbing glare and intolerable glare) through the eye vertical illuminance, and it was validated against DGP values. The approach allows a significant reduction of the computation time required for annual glare analyses. Potentials and drawbacks of the simplified method are critically discussed, also with respect to other simplified approaches defined by other authors in the past.

Abstract
A simplified approach that was developed for annual daylight glare analyses in buildings is presented. The approach enables to classify a whole space in terms of daylight glare comfort classes (imperceptible glare, perceptible glare, disturbing glare and intolerable glare) through the eye vertical illuminance, and it was validated against DGP values. The approach allows a significant reduction of the computation time required for annual glare analyses. Potentials and drawbacks of the simplified method are critically discussed, also with respect to other simplified approaches defined by other authors in the past.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
