Abstract
Over centuries natural disasters such as earthquakes, transformed cultural heritage located near to the Mediterranean basin in ruins. Currently we can discover, looking at this heritage, two types of phenomena: accidental destructions, caused by unpredictable natural events and intentional destructions caused by man activity which destroy symbols of the past. Due to this, it seems particularly significant to underline the past experiences and the more recent interventions in the Turkey ar-chaeological areas: the essay analyses examples where the destruction took place due to incompatible, both formally and ma-terially, historical preservation projects, or to consequences of too aggressive consolidations. Nowadays it’s possible to identify efforts of maintaining and preserving, as memory of natural events, the traces of these disasters such as earthquakes. Regard-ing this attitude, it’s important to highline the establishment of the archaeo-seismological park of Hierapolis of Phrygia, or the proposed of seismological landscape coastal territories of Cilicia.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
