Abstract
Discrete Cosine Transform represented a paramount in image and video coding for many years. Despite its diffusion and popularity, the presence of oating point operations has tackled the possibility of obtaining lossless systems. Moreover oating point computations lead to higher power consumption, hence higher energy demands. In this work a novel DCT structure is proposed, starting from a promising study by Nguyen et al. The socalled dynDCT represents a quite promising solution, being able to achieve signi cant operation savings with respect to traditional, liftingbased approaches.Pubblicazioni consigliate
