This paper reports the geotechnical studies carried out by means of numerical simulations to design remedial measures to stabilize the cliff on which Corniglio is founded. The town, a smal medieval settlement, located in the Northern part of the Apennines, has been envolved into an enormous landslde occuring from 1994 to present. In order to preserve the twon's medieval characteristics, an interpretative model of the cliff behavior has been performed by analyzing the stress strain states induced by the landslide and consolidation works have been proposed
