In this work, we introduce a novel unified and consistent spectral method for the solution of electromagnetic scattering problems involving cylindrical structures with polygonal profile. The technique extends the capability of Wiener-Hopf (WH) method beyond the classical canonical structures constituted by layers with discontinuities, wedges and waveguides. In this paper we propose to analyze infinite/finite polygonal crosssection structures in terms of integral equations in spectral domain with the help of systematic equivalent network modelling. Semi-analytical solutions will be useful for example in wave propagation, radar technology and for benchmarking fullnumerical codes.

Abstract
In this work, we introduce a novel unified and consistent spectral method for the solution of electromagnetic scattering problems involving cylindrical structures with polygonal profile. The technique extends the capability of Wiener-Hopf (WH) method beyond the classical canonical structures constituted by layers with discontinuities, wedges and waveguides. In this paper we propose to analyze infinite/finite polygonal crosssection structures in terms of integral equations in spectral domain with the help of systematic equivalent network modelling. Semi-analytical solutions will be useful for example in wave propagation, radar technology and for benchmarking fullnumerical codes.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
