We present a novel bandwidth control mechanism using phase-change materials (Sb2Se3) to enable wide-bandwidth tunability in silicon photonic grating-assisted contra-directional couplers. The bandwidth dynamic range, obtained using experimentally validated simulation models, is 9.1nm, surpassing the 3.2nm achievable with conventional thermal control methods.
