Portfolio design of electric vehicle can enhance manufacturers' competitiveness by meeting diversified customers preferences using reconfigured manufacturing resources. Electric vehicles are face both external competitions from other companies and internal competitions in the same product portfolio. Identification of design equilibrium by considering both internal and external competitions is needed for enhanced competitiveness. Competition relations and customers preferences are embedded in big sales data of electric vehicle. A method is proposed for the design equilibrium identification of electric vehicle by using big sales data. BYD's mid-range SUV portfolio is investigated as an illustrative example to test the feasibility of the method.
