Abstract
Cemeteries are fundamental yet ordinarily overlooked elements within our cities. Decades of neglect and their long-standing imperviousness have reinforced their in- grained mournful nature, condemning them to the role of segregated tiles within the urban fabric, solely sworn to their original purpose: the distant and impenetrable city of the dead. Redesign endeavours can only go so far without the openness to question centuries-old customs and a thorny relationship with death. Reconsidering tradition and introducing alternative methods to dispose of hu- man remains shall be crucial to the design of a 2.0 cem- etery, distant from its cold container-like appearance yet respectful of its sacred purpose and hopefully able to morph into a resource for the urban area.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
