Abstract

Industrial tourism has emerged as a valuable opportunity for enhancing production sites. The Canavese area, known for its strong entrepreneurial tradition but limited tourism development, presents significant potential to leverage industry and culture as strategic drivers of regional development. While it is widely recognized for the tangible and intangible heritage of Olivetti in Ivrea, UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2018, its value extends beyond this heritage. This study aims to build a structured knowledge base of events, initiatives, and experiences related to industrial tourism, in order to support projects and processes for the enhancement of Canavese. A systemic approach to innovation, combined with the development of 4 databases, supported the analysis of over 70 points of interest (POIs), including tourist sites, itineraries, events, and companies. Quantitative and qualitative data were further enriched through on-site visits. The results highlight the strong link between industrial history and current productive activities,
