In high-speed induction motors equipped with a squirrel-cage solid rotor, an accurate loss analysis under load conditions can only be effectively approached through FEM modeling. However, to obtain reliable results, it is crucial that the FEM models are calibrated as accurately as possible using experimental measurements. For this purpose, laboratory no-load and locked-rotor tests are conducted to calibrate both 2D and 3D FEM models. Initially, load performance was evaluated using the 2D-FEM model and then replicated with the 3D-FEM model, thereby comparing the loss analyses, with particular emphasis on rotor core losses. At this stage, the calibrated 3D-FEM model was used to assess an alternative rotor structure aimed at reducing losses in the solid rotor losses.

Abstract
At this stage, the calibrated 3D-FEM model was used to assess an alternative rotor structure aimed at reducing losses in the solid rotor losses.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
