We analyze filtering penalty in ASE-impaired optical links, including transceiver noise effects. A mathematical model for FSE equalization is validated via time-domain simulation and exploited to perform Monte Carlo analyses, incorporating stochastic variations in optical filters' bandwidth and central frequency.
