In 1896, a great national exhibition took place in the public park of Budapest, celebrating the thousand years since the arrival of the Magyar tribes in the Carpathian basin and the results achieved by Hungarians in the artistic, cultural, and economic fields. Among the various pavilions, the so-called "Historical Group" was created by the architect Ignac Alpar, which summarizes the history of Hungarian architecture through the reconstruction - initially ephemeral - of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque monuments, largely based on precise studies and surveys. Alpar speaks clearly about the source of his work: the Medieval Village of Turin, visited in 1893. Rebuilt in 1907 due to the great success achieved, it is today one of the park’s major attractions
