Tunable devices are in increasing demand in present-day communication systems. One design with two configurations for tunable Frequency Selective Surfaces are proposed in this work. PIN diodes are used as active devices for tuning and control networks are embedded in the structures for biasing the active elements. Electromagnetic simulation has been used to assess the proposed designs. By utilizing the square-shaped unit cells of 18 mm edge length, distinct filtering bands have been produced below 12 GHz.

Abstract
