The heritage of ancient theatres and amphitheaters on the territory of Germany is a point of intersection between different cultures, populations and construction techniques, witnessed today by archaeological remains and architecture in the area. The historical events that have affected the German territory, starting from the first Roman raids, confirm the continuous transformations like the clashes and upheavals marked by the different populations. In this context, the theatres and amphitheaters, through the information we have received so far, represent a direct testimony of ancient history and allow us to know the differences and peculiarities of life on the borders of the Empire. Today this heritage appears very diversified based on the state of conservation, its historical development and architectural conformation. Archaeological sites known to the general public, buildings now disappeared and are known only for a few fragments, and structures hidden under the ground; are just some of the most widespread and different cases that confirm the diversity of these ancient structures for the show. Investigating the history and studying the territories and their constructive characteristics allows us to attribute a series of values to this heritage with the precise intention of adopting the best strategies for their proper protection and conservation.

Abstract
Investigating the history and studying the territories and their constructive characteristics allows us to attribute a series of values to this heritage with the precise intention of adopting the best strategies for their proper protection and conservation.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
