This study investigates the seismic performance of a RC frame designed according to the codes by comparing, in reliability terms, different constitutive models aimed at including the confinement effects. Selecting L’Aquila (Italy) as reference site, different natural ground motions are selected to take into account the record-to-record variability. In addition, different fiber models are numerically defined and subjected to the records scaled at increasing seismic intensity measure levels. In this way, the nonlinear incremental dynamic analyses have been carried out and the interstory drift indices have been computed. Then, the seismic fragility curves have been evaluated within the log-normality assumption. Finally, the seismic reliability curves have been derived to assess the seismic performance and compare the various confinement models.
