Over the last twenty years, the activity promoted by banking foundations operating in Piedmont has constituted a determining factor in orienting intervention policies regarding the conservation of architectural heritage. The tenders dedicated to heritage in the early 2000s were essentially aimed at financing restoration interventions, which generally excluded works attributable to the maintenance category. In a decade, we find calls for tenders that open up to the territory, to online network assets, to the economic and social impact of the interventions, and to push towards forms of co-financing. Over time, banking foundations have promoted a culture more focused on maintaining cultural heritage, encouraging training activities, and developing research projects often conducted in synergy with academic research. These activities allowed the drafting of new tenders with a gradual transition from attention to the single asset to integrated planning that would favor developing new projects and revitalizing local economies. The contribution presented, therefore, proposes some reflections on the topic through the presentation of two case studies selected as part of the competitive tender promoted in 2023 by Compagnia di San Paolo, PRIMA. Abstract
