The objective of the paper is to analyze the influence of corrosion inhibitors on the durability of historical cementitious composites to develop the best conservation guidelines in case of elements of historical value. The paper focuses on ferrocement, a thin cementitious composite that has been used for the construction of large shells and roofing systems. In addition, durability investigations on this type of material are very scant, especially regarding preservation purposes. In particular, the experimentation was carried out on a series of samples reproduced in laboratory and tested with different treatment solutions for protecting the material from corrosion to understand and evaluate their effectiveness.

Abstract
The objective of the paper is to analyze the influence of corrosion inhibitors on the durability of historical cementitious composites to develop the best conservation guidelines in case of elements of historical value. The paper focuses on ferrocement, a thin cementitious composite that has been used for the construction of large shells and roofing systems. In addition, durability investigations on this type of material are very scant, especially regarding preservation purposes. In particular, the experimentation was carried out on a series of samples reproduced in laboratory and tested with different treatment solutions for protecting the material from corrosion to understand and evaluate their effectiveness.Pubblicazioni consigliate
