The Chapel of the Holy Shroud, an extraordinary work by the Theatine architect Guarino Guarini (1624-1683) was the subject of a long and complex architectural and structural restoration after the 1997 fire had almost completely compromised its conservation. An example of adaptivity of an architecture that is crucial for understanding the architectural culture from which it originated.
