The historic centre of Capua is one of the most damaged by the bombing of the II World War among those in the province of Caserta. This contribution analyses the Reconstruction Plan approved in 1947, focusing on the studies that led to its drafting and the first choices made, as well as on the contribution made during the emergency phase by leading figures in the field of architecture, town planning and protection of the second half of the 20th century in Italy.
