Abstract
Berlin Castle is a building dated to 1443 which, through centuries, has played a fundamental role for the city. As a result of damage sustained during the Second World War, it was completely demolished in the early years of the GDR and in its place was erected the modernist Palace of the Republic. After the fall of the Wall, the same symbol building of East Germany is shot down and consequently the Parliament decided to hold a competition for the reconstruction of the Castle. The winning of Franco Stella's project has triggered a debate on the issue of reconstruction "as it was, where it was".File | Dimensione | Formato | |
