"Integrated Tools for the Environmental Sustainability of the Vineyard" is a collaborative project by Politecnico di Torino, DET, and Università degli Studi di Torino, DISAFA, with three Wine Consortia and 17 farms. Over 44 months in Piemonte, it deployed local agrometeorological sensors in Moscato grape vineyards. These compact, low-energy sensors, along with a custom microcontroller LoRa board, monitored air temperature and humidity, soil conditions, and more. The project also analyzed satellite data using Google Earth Engine, creating multi-temporal NDVI maps. UAV surveys with DJI Phantom 4 Multispectral assessed vineyard dynamics. This integrated approach compared drone and satellite data, mapping vineyard vegetation for the 2022-2023 seasons and evaluating Sentinel-2's usefulness in describing vineyard growth.
