Implicazioni socio-spaziali di applicazioni blockchain per iniziative civiche negli spazi urbani

Socio-spatial implications of blockchain appplications for civic initiatives in the urban space. This contribution presents a PhD research in the field of digitally-enable civic participation, with particular reference to blockchain technology. The research, starting from the case study of a “wallet-app” that aims to make the typical properties of the blockchain accessible, aims to study to what extent this technology, in a specific interpretation oriented towards civic spheres, contributes to the reproduction of the urban socio-economic spatialities, and how local contexts can influence its design. The framework in the field of digital geography, the analytical and conceptual framework developed starting from the debate on the design of civic blockchains, and the first empirical observations are presented.
