This paper reports the aerodynamic characterization of MR5 civil high-speed aircraft, studied in the field of the MORE&LESS project. At each step, the accuracy of the aerodynamic analysis is increased. The analysis starts from simplified methods already available in literature, which allow us to have a first estimation of the aerodynamics. Then, CFD analysis is performed to have a more detailed characterization. Moreover, a test campaign will be performed to complete the aerodynamic investigation. Eventually, mission simulation is used to validate the vehicle performance along the reference route

Abstract

This paper reports the aerodynamic characterization of MR5 civil high-speed aircraft, studied in the field of the MORE&LESS project. At each step, the accuracy of the aerodynamic analysis is increased. The analysis starts from simplified methods already available in literature, which allow us to have a first estimation of the aerodynamics. Then, CFD analysis is performed to have a more detailed characterization. Moreover, a test campaign will be performed to complete the aerodynamic investigation. Eventually, mission simulation is used to validate the vehicle performance along the reference route
