Disciplinar e Distinguir: Formas de Narrativa e Representações de Sujeitos da Arquitetura

This article aims to investigate the disciplinary aspects of the field of architecture, through a critical perspective of the production of knowledge and the sociology of cultural production. For this, the representation of the subjects that produce architecture (specifically architects within the disciplinary field of architecture) is analysed. This reveals the way historical narratives places individuals in the centre of the field development. This critical analysis reveals how this representation silences the "general intellect," that is, the collective and social character of this cultural production. This reflection sheds light on the errors of operative historiography and many of its critics. This perspective also makes it possible to imagine another way of understanding architecture as a collective product expropriated by the figure of "princes" of architecture (also known as architects of the "star system").
