The study proposes the results of a developing research project on parametric modelling of vaulted systems. The study on geometric generation at the focus of this research relates to parametric modelling, in its component of the creation of forms and models using a visual programming language via the Grasshopper software. Based on the study of theoretical aspects, the coherence of form and structure and the composition of geometric forms in its countless relationships, it is intended to define the parametric development of an adaptive cloister vault. The aim is to use and synthesise in a single visual algorithm a model of geometric character inspired by the innumerable theoretical models and constructed models that, with a limited number of dimensional constraints, can define this complex surface on any quadrilateral structure and any rise.
