Rilievo urbano e rigenerazione edilizia: il caso del lanificio Bona a Carignano

The urban survey is research and knowledge, the language of drawing is the scientific tool capable of investigating, through the introduction of original graphic codes, the generative and regulatory paradigms of the city. The survey becomes a basic tool for knowledge of the environment investigated but above all, a promoter and disseminator of information, both intrinsic and derived, that conveys a body of knowledge rooted in the past. Through simplified and codified representations of the consolidated urban fabric, it is possible to implement processes of understanding the mechanisms of evolution and growth of the city, understood as a summa between the artifacts that constitute it and the urban scene in which they are inserted. Such knowledge has always been the starting point for proper planning and design. The experience conducted within the block of the former Bona Woolen Mill in Carignano, allowed us to verify how, the survey for knowledge, represented with a codified graphic language is not limited to being a simple vehicle of communication but becomes an actor of knowledge preparatory to the subsequent phases of planning and design.
