Abstract
In 1911 Le Corbusier, still in his training path, undertook his Voyage d’Orient and will be in 1929 where his first Latin American trip begins as well as a deep relationship with the West. From that moment, followed by conferences, work partnerships and why not, some disappointments, is how he established a connection link along with this part of the world which will last for at least the three coming decades. Beyond his contribution to South America, what might be more significant to us is what he actually got and the result of that, reflected in that intercultural exchange process. In the 1930s, both European and Latin American architects, intellectuals and artists who developed their academic or professional training between both continents, will create a theoretical, cultural and project network. Thanks to these transatlantic relationships is how the new modernity was born.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
