Strumenti integrati per la manutenzione e il recupero delle architetture Olivettiane a Ivrea

In Ivrea, the emblematic outcomes of the urban and architectural experiment inspired by Adriano Olivetti have been part of the UNESCO Catalogue since 2018. In terms of the history of Italian industrialisation and modern architecture, these outcomes have been extensively investigated for decades: here the social works, together with the industrial and infrastructural works, have conditioned the evolution of a frontier urban context, combining the new instances of production with the pre-existing areas and processes of rural production. The authors propose an approach and a working method that are not bound by stereotypical categories of functional connotation in order to offer sustainable solutions to the burning issue of conservation. The proposed contribution presents the first results of an articulated research programme that aims to draw up an integrated tool for the direction and coordination of appropriate conservation, maintenance and reuse interventions.
