Abstract
The intervention in industrial heritage directs the project towards Zero soil consumption and, through Zero Waste-Zero Energy strategies, contributes to the objectives of eco-compatibility, decarbonisation and circularity of the building stock, seen as a renewable resource, in the perspective of a closed-loop city. Reinterpreting the potential of abandoned buildings allows the set-off of adaptive, conscious and carbon-neutral reuse processes, which reactivate a system of stratified fabrics - urban memories of the social culture of work - regenerating urban places. The project promotes the contamination between memory deposits and urban mines, activating exchanges of material and energy resources and waste from the urban metabolic system to be used in the project on and with existing buildings. “Thus, the reuse of waste from various sources allows the super use of the former Mira Lanza in Rome, a reversible intervention that guarantees further cycles, in a continuous process of active conservation.Pubblicazioni consigliate
