La fabbrica formale e la fabbrica informale. Prospettive di patrimonializzazione e turismo industriale / The formal factory and the informal factory. Prospects for capitalization and industrial tourism

Before the strategies that led to the scientific management of the car industry and the construction of factories based on Fordist principles, Turin was home to a network of workshops that could be defined as informal: they consisted of places spread over recognizable parts of the urban fabric. The history, memory and even the physical permanence of such realities have been eclipsed by the birth and growth of larger factories. The historiography devoted to these places is fragmented or non-existent, in favor of narratives conditioned by the Fordist model. The study is intended as the starting point for a transversal inventory system of sources, which can open up a new perspective on the storytelling practices of the industrial city. Applied to an interactive map, the system could be an important tool in the perspective of use of heritage, also aimed at promoting industrial tourism. Prima delle strategie che portano all'organizzazione scientifica del lavoro nell'industria automobilistica e alla costruzione di stabilimenti che rispondono a logiche fordiste, a Torino è testimoniato un tessuto di fabbriche che possono essere definite informali: si tratta di luoghi diffusi su parti rilevanti quanto riconoscibili del tessuto urbano. La storia, la memoria e persino la permanenza fisica di queste realtà sono state eclissate dalla nascita e crescita delle grandi fabbriche. La storiografia dedicata a questi luoghi è frammentata o assente, a favore di narrazioni condizionate dal modello fordista. Lo studio è inteso come punto d'avvio di un sistema di catalogazione trasversale delle fonti, che riesca ad aprire una prospettiva inedita nelle pratiche di storytelling della città industriale. Applicato ad una mappa interattiva, il sistema potrebbe risultare uno strumento importante nell'ottica di una fruizione del patrimonio, anche vòlta alla promozione del turismo industriale.
