The popular assisted reluctance machines are in continuous development, primarily due to the implementation of the bonded magnets. NdFeB bonded magnets are an alternative solution with respect to sintered ones for their capability to be produced in very complex shapes and customized magnetic characteristics. Different technologies and material combinations can be used to make bonded magnets. The several NdFeB bonded magnets prepared by compression molding have been investigated. Once a compromise is found among the proposed solutions, the prototype of assisted reluctance machines is produced and tested. The experimental results confirm high torque density.

Abstract
The popular assisted reluctance machines are in continuous development, primarily due to the implementation of the bonded magnets. NdFeB bonded magnets are an alternative solution with respect to sintered ones for their capability to be produced in very complex shapes and customized magnetic characteristics. Different technologies and material combinations can be used to make bonded magnets. The several NdFeB bonded magnets prepared by compression molding have been investigated. Once a compromise is found among the proposed solutions, the prototype of assisted reluctance machines is produced and tested. The experimental results confirm high torque density.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
