Polymorphism is known as the ability of a compound to exist in more than one crystalline structure, and is very common in the crystallization of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Polymorph screening is fundamental during the development of new drugs since the formation of the wrong polymorph can affect solubility, rate of dissolution and toxicity of the API, therefore, seriously threatening the life of patients [1]. This work reports a novel microfluidic method for studying polymorphism based on multiplex fluoropolymer microfluidic devices.

Abstract
Polymorphism is known as the ability of a compound to exist in more than one crystalline structure, and is very common in the crystallization of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Polymorph screening is fundamental during the development of new drugs since the formation of the wrong polymorph can affect solubility, rate of dissolution and toxicity of the API, therefore, seriously threatening the life of patients [1]. This work reports a novel microfluidic method for studying polymorphism based on multiplex fluoropolymer microfluidic devices.Pubblicazioni consigliate
