Abstract

The paradigm shift that leads the construction industry towards process digitisation prompts the industry to reflect critically. The paper analyses the role of drawing in the current forma mentis, which tends towards information modelling and the process of deconstructing the real physical element in several finalized models with different purposes and users. The utopia of the "Digital Twin" is critically considered in terms of costs/benefits of the virtualization process in the life cycle of both the real element and its twin.
