This paper aims at presenting an innovative tool developed by Politecnico di Torino under funding and supervision of the European Space Agency (ESA). This ad-hoc built-in tool support the designer incost estimation during conceptual and preliminary design phases, allowing the evaluation of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation Costs (RDTE costs), Production (Prod costs) as well asDirect and Indirect Operating Costs (DOC and IOC). Eventually, results of the LCC evaluation for LAPCAT A2 and LAPCAT MR2 are provided and discussed.

Abstract
