This paper aims to investigate how the open-design approach can help in the regeneration processes of historical urban heritage through participatory design path. The opportunity to experiment with the methods and techniques of open-design was offered by a research project called Visionaria conducted in the city of Senigallia (Marche, Italy). Visionaria consists of a series of open activities by dedicated young people under 35 years of age, with the aim of regenerating an urban space at an important central location in the city center. The planning of the project was shared and achieved through a digital fabrication workshop based on a mix of parametric modeling and low-cost manufacturing solutions.

Abstract
This paper aims to investigate how the open-design approach can help in the regeneration processes of historical urban heritage through participatory design path. The opportunity to experiment with the methods and techniques of open-design was offered by a research project called Visionaria conducted in the city of Senigallia (Marche, Italy). Visionaria consists of a series of open activities by dedicated young people under 35 years of age, with the aim of regenerating an urban space at an important central location in the city center. The planning of the project was shared and achieved through a digital fabrication workshop based on a mix of parametric modeling and low-cost manufacturing solutions.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
