Archivio Istituzionale della RicercaThe contribution presents the results of a research activity concerning the issues of recovery and socially inclusive regeneration of disused industrial areas identified as a resource for territorial development. The article focuses on the territory of Balangero and Val Grande di Lanzo (in the province of Turin) and, on the former asbestos mine of Balangero selected as case study. The latter, closed since 1990, is undergoing an intervention aimed at both the decontamination of the site and at the regeneration and enhancement of the industrial legacy and of the related cultural heritage.
