The Fort of Fenestrelle, defined as the "great wall of Piedmont", is the largest and most impressive Alpine fortress in Europe. Starting from previous studies carried out in the mid-nineties at the Politecnico di Torino, whose results led to the creation of a three-dimensional model of the Ridotta Belvedere, the highest nucleus of the fortress, which allowed the execution of a "virtual tour" within the complex, the present contribution aims to document the current situation of the monument, from the point of view of management, use and communication, to propose an update and implementation of the existing database, being able to adopt more innovative methods of survey and representation.

Abstract
The Fort of Fenestrelle, defined as the "great wall of Piedmont", is the largest and most impressive Alpine fortress in Europe. Starting from previous studies carried out in the mid-nineties at the Politecnico di Torino, whose results led to the creation of a three-dimensional model of the Ridotta Belvedere, the highest nucleus of the fortress, which allowed the execution of a "virtual tour" within the complex, the present contribution aims to document the current situation of the monument, from the point of view of management, use and communication, to propose an update and implementation of the existing database, being able to adopt more innovative methods of survey and representation.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
