The original idea of FORTMED was that of bringing together researchers working on Modern Age Fortifications of the Mediterranean at a conference, with the aim of creating an interdisciplinary network of researchers. Indeed, the primary objective of the Conference is to exchange and share knowledge, valorisation, management, and exploitation of Culture and Heritage that developed on the Western Mediterranean Coast in the Modern Age, considering the dissemination of the results as a crucial resource to achieve the objective
