In this paper, some results about the possibility to improve the radiation performances of a Convex ReflectArray (CRA) antenna through an ad hoc 3-D printed feed is carried out. The entire antenna system has been manufactured and experimentally characterized. The measurements, in good agreement with the numerical results, show that the proposed configuration is capable to increase, with respect to the case when a conventional pyramidal horn feed is used, both the efficiency and the 1-dB bandwidth, from the 22% to the 48% and from the 7% to the 11% respectively.

Abstract
In this paper, some results about the possibility to improve the radiation performances of a Convex ReflectArray (CRA) antenna through an ad hoc 3-D printed feed is carried out. The entire antenna system has been manufactured and experimentally characterized. The measurements, in good agreement with the numerical results, show that the proposed configuration is capable to increase, with respect to the case when a conventional pyramidal horn feed is used, both the efficiency and the 1-dB bandwidth, from the 22% to the 48% and from the 7% to the 11% respectively.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
