In this paper 2.4GHz ISM band Radio Frequency receivers are analyzed and tested. Electro-Magnetic Interference can couple with antennas, PCB traces and integrated inductors reaching the receiver’s input and leading to communication impairment. The main causes of errors are analyzed considering the Low Noise Amplifier responsible for communication errors. Receiver susceptibility was evaluated through measurements, by injecting low-frequency interfering waveforms in the receiver front-end once the wireless communication was established. The susceptibility parameter used was the Packet Error Rate; its definition has been modified to account also for the packets lost. Vulnerability to low-frequency interference was found.
