The study aims to develop an instrument through which it is possible to perform an analysis of the architectural heritage dividing it into classes structurally homogeneous. The research is aimed at the development of practices for a speed survey and at the introduction of an abstract system of representation on urban scale relatively to some buildings mechanical parameters. The analysis relates to a block located in the historic center of Turin, adjacent to the Royal Palace (fig. 1), characterized by the presence of a stately monumental building, a complex church and some houses of annuity. The survey data, carried with information both of building and urban type, are thought to be part of a geographical information system integrated with information of geophysical, geological, geotechnical data, well equipped in a simplified computer systems, thus constituting a useful tool in the whole definition of damage scenarios.

Abstract

The following considerations are the beginning notes to ongoing research theme, under the regulations of the urban survey, which has multidisciplinary character and aims to discourse on evaluation of seismic vulnerability in historic centers. The subject is very important and topical because of the seismic events have involved the country in the years just passed and it is part of an intense scientific activity. Today it is shared awareness the facto for which any preventive action in the discipline of structural safety involves an adequate level of knowledge about the housing stock.
