The disused military buildings are distributed throughout the national territory, along the coasts and in the Alps, in metropolitan cities and in small towns along the state boundary. The disused military buildings consist of a variety of buildings and settlements, many of which are now protected for their historical and artistic value: barracks, arsenals, factories, laboratories, fortified systems, housing, hospitals, warehouses, ports, air bases, exercise fields and shooting ranges. The object of this paper is the redevelopment of the former barracks and military properties. This paper analyzes the process of privatization and conversion of public properties and analyzes the laws, the risks and the limits of their redevelopment.
