The image of the Russian Empire in the traveller’s drawings

The subject of the research is the architectural and landscape heritage, creating the image of small but historically significant cities of the Russian Empire. The object of the study is drawings of travellers, both Russian and foreign scientists. Preserved drawings, drafts and sketches are witnesses and narrators of the country’s history, which not exists more nearly 100 years. These drawings, as the sources of information may be good assistants like when deciding on the remodeling of historic events and in the restoration and reconstruction of monuments in Russia.
