This demonstration presents a very-low complexity IR-UWB radio system able to broadcast high quality audio signal in the band 0-20 kHz, using an order of magnitude lower number of radiated pulses compared to any packet based IR-UWB communication system. The audio source is PFM modulated and transmitted through IR-UWB. At the RX, an asynchronous and interference-robust energy detector recovers the pulse frequency modulated audio signal. Signal is demodulated by a passive FM detector and filtered with a fourth order Sallen Key cell and successively amplified for speakers steering. The demonstrator comprises a mini TX module, a RX module comprising demodulator filtering and speaker amplifier.
