Mobile Web App: technologies and services in a Campus environment

Nowadays, mobile technologies and new communication paradigms offer vast opportunities to change and improve services within Uniniversity Campuses. In this scenario, App technologies are growing even more and they become the new foundamental medium to access services and informations in the University context. In order to improve its offer of services, the Politecnico di Torino according to the technological evolution moved from a traditional Web approach to the App Mobile model using as intermediat steps the web responsive and the mobile web models. In this paper we describe the strategies and the technical choices to design and to realize the PoliTO App, the official App to step into the campus, providing learning, logistic and administrative services to student and teachers.
