This work presents a novel bifunctional compound made of a bio-based polyurethane, designed and prepared to guarantee both flame retardancy and electrical conductivity. The compound is an halogen-free no-burning polymeric materials (UL94-V0) with electrical resistivity of about 103 Ω•cm (ATEX compliancy). Different phosphorous flame retardants and conductive carbon nanotubes have been properly combined, exploiting synergisms among additives, material structure and process. Particularly, the total fraction of phosphorous flame retardants is 15%-wt. This contribution will provide the description of the R&D work done to get this result.

Abstract
This work presents a novel bifunctional compound made of a bio-based polyurethane, designed and prepared to guarantee both flame retardancy and electrical conductivity. The compound is an halogen-free no-burning polymeric materials (UL94-V0) with electrical resistivity of about 103 Ω•cm (ATEX compliancy). Different phosphorous flame retardants and conductive carbon nanotubes have been properly combined, exploiting synergisms among additives, material structure and process. Particularly, the total fraction of phosphorous flame retardants is 15%-wt. This contribution will provide the description of the R&D work done to get this result.Pubblicazioni consigliate
